Arran and Lewes Landscapers recently completed a rather tricky landscaping project for me. I live in a house with the only access to the garden being through the front door, similar many houses in Lewes.

My brief to Arran was to redevelop the top, rather wild and unkempt area of my very steep garden, in to two locally sourced brick terraces, one to house a summer house and the other behind the first to accommodate, recycling, an unsightly BBQ and a compost bin. A lot of excavation was required and naturally all of the waste had to come through my recently restored house, it was naturally a concern for me, I need not have worried one jot.

From my initial meeting with Arran to the day the project was completed, in what seemed like no time at all, Arran and his work force were completely professional, trustworthy, courteous and incredibly neat and tidy.

I am an exacting task master, ask Arran! So detail is important to me, Arran’s attention to detail and ability to be flexible with the plans, when conditions required them, were amazing and when finished, the final result was far better than I had imagined it could possibly look, I’m extremely pleased with my two new terraces and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lewes Landscapers to anyone.

Thanks Arran

Arran and Jenny of Lewes Landscapers did a fantastic job in our garden. I was so impressed with their whole approach to the task and their hard work at the time. 6 weeks down the line and the garden is looking very good which is testimony to the sound job they did. We are so enjoying being able to use the garden. I can unequivocally recommend their services.

We have a terraced garden on four levels with very awkward access. When we moved in the whole garden was derelict, and we wanted to clear out the rubble, even out the levels, and put turf at the bottom for our baby to play on, with a path and steps running down to it, and beds and a paved terrace on the higher levels. We invited a number of landscaping companies to quote but were told that the poor access and overall unusual shape of the garden would cause a lot of problems, and that either our plans must be altered or the job would be very laborious and expensive. One suggested that if we wanted a play area at the shady bottom level we should simply put down rubber mats, as grass would never grow down there!

We found Lewes Landscapers’ approach was quite different. They were extremely positive about our back-of-an-envelope sketches, and suggested a range of intelligent options for approaches and materials. Because of their experience of working in gardens in the hilly Lewes area, they were not fazed by the terracing, and even managed to negotiate access through a neighbour’s property, saving several days’ work carrying the rubble up to street level.

We booked the work to take place when we went on holiday, and everything went very smoothly. They communicated regularly, emailing us progress updates complete with photos, and they even watered our terrace plants and our new lawn until our return.

We came back to a spotless home and a new garden, which our baby loves playing in. We would be happy to recommend Lewes Landscapers to anyone looking for a professional, enthusiastic and flexible service.
